After Bengals’ linebacker Ray Maualuga was arrested on DUI charges the headlines should have read: “Maualuga Finally Earns His Stripes.”
Get it? Because Cincinnati Bengal players frequently get arrested. God that’s a great zinger.

At least that’s what this promises too be. I haven’t watched it because I’m going spoiler free this season.

Kiira Korpi.
Beautiful ain’t she? Very. She’s a figure skater too. Is she good? I don’t know. Do I care? Not at all. She’s unbelievable. I don’t even know if she speaks english, but who cares. She’s 21. She’s from Finland. And I’m in love with her. She kind of looks like Julie Taylor from Friday Night Lights in the picture above. And kinda looks like the chick from Super Troopers in the picture below.

I respect Brett Favre. He’s a tough SOB who’s performing better at 40 than 95% of players play in their 30′s. But I do hate him at the same time. And as a result, this audio of the Vikings radio team during Favre’s interception that changed my life is classic. I could listen to it millions of times. In fact, I just about have. And now you can do the same.

He’s just a kid out there, having fun, loving the game. Well that dude made me so happy when he took it upon himself to give everyone in New Orleans a reason to live. God Dammit! That was awesome. I just flat out don’t like Brett Favre. Will Tom Brady ever retire and come back to play for the Jets? Would Dan Marino have ever come back to play for the…well Jets I guess? Would Peyton Manning ever retire to come back and join the…Colts rivals (the Patriots I guess)? No. Because they respect loyalty and stuff. Brett Favre was a packer. He was Green Bay. But then he went and became a huge dick. Which brings me to my crazy theory:

…For my generation at least. I don’t know if the Jonas Brothers or whoever else is popular now gets the same reactions the boy bands of my time get. Remember NSYNC’s celebrity? How it was such a hot seller. Girls everywhere would go nuts for it. ”Pop” was the first single and was a huge success. But then came the 2nd single, a song by the name of “Gone.”
It was different. And dare I say was the song that got me into the beginning stages of my “Hey, I don’t hate Justin Timberlake” mindset. The video wasn’t exactly boy band material either. Black and white, no dancing, some story, straight-forward, all well and good. But then came the realization that made millions of tween girls crap their panties. JC DIDN’T HAVE A VERSE!!!!! That was N’Sync’s thing. Justin had a verse, JC had a verse, and occasionally they’d let one of the other dudes get a moment to shine. But not this time. All Justin. Sure he let those other guys hang in the back and hum and say “Gone” but that was as much as he gave them.
Yup, this song marked the beginning of the end for N’Sync. Justin wised up, said, “hey guys, I’ll do this one on my own.” And they let him, and it was as good as they had ever done musically. If he can get all the success without having to spread the pay to 4 other dudes, why should he keep them around. He let them have one more video, but not without bringing Nelly around, so he could have an in to the urban music scene. That Justin’s a smart man.
And so here we are, Justin bangs the hottest ass around, I own a copy of his cd and have it on vinyl, and the other 4 guys probably j/o to their old music videos or something dumb like that.
And because of this, I’d nominate Gone as one of the Connor Is Awesome’s most awesome videos of all time.

Ever since this song was on Community on Thursday, I’ve had it stuck in my head. I hope you listen and it eats away at your brain too.

When you’re driving and Blur’s “Song 2″ comes on the radio, do you really emphatically lip-sync the “Woo-Hoos!” too? Just wondering.
