Lost Fantasy: A Tale of Triumph

Published by Connor under Awesome,Friends,Nerdy,TV

Well my success in fantasy sports has continued, as my first go around in the world of the TV show Lost fantasy game has been a resounding success. The Ref won the league by the slim margin of 20 points over other perennial powerhouse Tommy Griendz.

Since episode 10 it had really been a 3 man race between myself, Pat Thomas, and Bradz. It appeared as though only one of us could win based on point set-up, squad members, and the fact we were so far ahead of the others.  The finale being worth x2 was the real game changer we thought. We were wrong.  When we found out SPOILER ALERT!!!! Locke wasn’t exactly Locke most of the season, it became anyones game.  When the episodes were reviewed, and the points tallied, Connor “the Ref” McCormick came out on top.

And here’s the winning squad: Locke, Sawyer, Ben, Jack, Jacob, Bernard, Lapidus, Widmore, Sarah Shepherd, Ji-Yeon, Charlie, Ethan, Tom, Mr. Eko, Faraday, Christian.

Next Season of Lost Fantasy is only 8 months away!

Going Over Some of the New Things

Published by Connor under Site News

Last weekend I did a lot of drinking. And that drinking led to experimenting. (No! Not like that, sillies!) I downloaded and installed a bunch of plug-ins to improve the site.

  • Google AdSense finally accepted my site’s application, so I can put ads on the page and maybe make some money out of the whole thing.
  • PODCAST!!! The Connor Is Awesome Podcast has now begun.  I was supposed to have my first official episode today, but my guest had to cancel.  So we’ll get it up ASAP. For now, my old concast are available on itunes. I’ll explain how to subscribe soon.
  • I added a twitter application to the page. Now I can just twitter from the page and it will update with posts and what not. Please follow me or whatever, @ConnorMick. It also automatically posts tweets about all my new blog posts. So you can stay as up to date as possible in another way.
  • I improved by subscription stuff, so you now either click the RSS button on the page or in your address bar, or whereever it is, or just click “Entries RSS” on the left side of the page under Meta. Makes it easy to read posts quicker.
  • You can now help spread the word of Connor Is Awesome, and share any pages, or posts you like with the “Share on Facebook” button on the bottom of every post. It just shares the post on your home page, it’d be really sweet if you did it.
  • I updated the favicon for the page, it’s just my face now.
  • I added live blogging software, but haven’t used it yet.
  • The konami code now works on my site. Just do the up up, down down, left right, left right, b a start on the page and you should be taken somewhere. I’ll change where you get directed often.
  • I added a text message subscription, where you can sign up, and I can text message you random funny things. You should sign up. It’s pretty bad ass.
  • I went back and categorized all my old posts, so there’s no “Uncategorized” posts anymore. It probably doesn’t matter to you, but it makes me happier for some reason.
  • I added Google Analytics. So now I get detailed information about page visits, how long you spend on here, where you visit from, what you do and all. It’s cool.

I think thats most of the new stuff. I’m most excited about the podcast thing. You can search “Connor Is Awesome” in the itunes store, and it should come up.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

Published by Connor under Site News

Well everyone is down the shore.  There’s not much to do. I spent much of the day categorizing all the posts I’ve ever written. Took a long time. And I don’t think anything I did matters. I added a twitter application to the blog since twitter is popular. I also added other applications, don’t know how they work. Added a podcast one, so that’s good.

Doing some cleaning while watching the Lakers game then maybe head out for a bit.

Ruth, Mantle, Rose, Schmidt, Eckstein?

Published by Connor under Not Awesome,Sports

Awesome fucking sports hasn’t been heard from in a while, maybe that will change, maybe not. But this couldn’t go unposted.  David Eckstein lost a ball in the lights, and then cleverly played it off like he hadn’t. Very nice. But then san diego’s announcer says something that was so absurdly inaccurate, i nearly crapped myself.

Yea……..that’s not even close to true. “One of the best to ever play the game of baseball”.  He may make my top 5000 list (which I promise to finish someday) but as of right now, he hasn’t really cracked the top 50 in my book.

I’m So Awkward – Example #46

Published by Connor under Dammit!,Oops

Today I was driving home and I was at a red light on State and Lansdowne.  ”I’ll Be Watching You” by the Police came on Ben FM.  So as always I waited for the first 10 seconds of the song to see if I’d hear puff daddy say “I miss ya Big.” Cause then I’d know if it was “I’ll be missing you,” but alas, it was “I’ll be watching you.”

So this is an alright song in itself, and I daze off a bit and begin to sing along.  I should learn to stop singing to myself once I make eye contact with someone, because before I knew it I locked eyes with the driver of the car to my left, just mouthing “I’ll be watching you,” at him.

I assume he’ll sleep with his doors locked tonight.

The Connor Is Awesome RW/RR Challenge

Published by Connor under TV

The RW/RR challenge is in full force this year as the Duel 2 has arguably been one of the best seasons ever.  But as always, there just is something missing. There is always a couple cast members I could do with out, and a couple extra that are needed.  Here is what I see as the ultimate squad of cast members for a Challenge. There would be four groups. Two for guys and two for girls. The guys are sepeared into the “Dudes” (guys I wouldn’t mind hanging at a bar with) and “Douches” (guys who are just douches.)  The girls are split into “Bangables” (girls I wouldn’t mind taking home from the bar) and the “Unfuckables” (girls who are too gross or lesbians). They squad members are as follows: Continue Reading »

The Chimney Sweeper Did It!

Published by Connor under Awesome,MEN!

graduate

Men do men things. And that’s what occurred yesterday.  Standing tall beside Bradz and Cumz, I took the next step in my life.  Now I’m a college graduate.  Now it’s me against the world, once again I’m an underdog. Once again, I’m gonna shock the world.

That didn’t come out as bad ass as I woulda liked. So please, go back and read that, and picture it being said as a voice-over by Kevin Bacon and it will be a lot better.

Henry Rowengartner is Back!!!!

Published by Connor under Awesome,Music

If you’re like me you probably wake up every morning and think, “where has Thomas Ian Nicholas gone?”  He was great in rookie of the year, and annoying as Kevin in the American Pie series, and I never saw a kid in king arthur’s court, but I assume it was oscar-worthy.  Anyway, I finally found him. He’s in a rock-and-roll band that rocks and rolls.  Here’s Without Warning for your viewing pleasure.

American Idol Thoughts

Published by Connor under Music,Not Awesome,Suspenseful,TV

So the final 3 performed tonight. Then tomorrow two will go on. I’ve predicted Danny Gokey from the very beginning, so I’m obviously still pulling from him. And with good reason, he’s the best singer.  He doesn’t really have a ton of personality, but he can sing better than the other two. They say this is 3 men, but lets face it, that Adam dude is so gay, he’s practically a chick.

Danny can straight up sing. And he seems like a cool enough guy. He should make the final 2, based on that alone. He’s got 1/2 the guy vote and 1/3 of the women vote.

Adam will be final 2, and probably win. He’s got the gay vote, and 1/3 of the women vote, which should be enough. He sucks though. No matter what song, he goes out of his way to hit that high note that is all he has. I hated his version of One. I don’t know why the judges loved it so much. Obviously, it was only because they want him in the final 2.  Dude will be a bigger flop than the other gay dude, whos name escapes me at this moment. Skinny white dude. Think it began with a C.

Kris is a nerd. He could be cool enough. And him and Danny in the final 2 would be wonderful. He plays the instruments, big whoop.  He realizes he should be the oddman out so he went to the tatic of playing the most famous song of the night in hopes that it would make him easily remembered and steal some votes.  His versions of apologize and heartless just weren’t that good.

I’m worried Danny won’t go on because he picked songs people don’t hear on the radio every day.  His version of “you are so beautiful” was pretty good.  I think a bunch of losers vote for Kris, but i’m hoping not.

My heart says Danny and Kris.

My mind says Kris and Adam.
