Second to the Philles, Daniel Tosh is probably my favorite thing right about now. And tonight I have tickets to see him at the Tower. And that makes my night almost perfect. But in order for it to get all the way perfect, I’ll need game 3 of the World Series to be postponed or delayed 3 hours so I’m not checking my phone the whole time he’s on stage. I’ve always been a firm believer that everyone has two loves in their entire life. And whoever becomes my second will always be riding in the backseat, because shotgun belongs to the Phillies, my first love. There is no end to my love for the Phillies. Usually you grow up loving baseball as a kid, with little league, the summer nights, and the amount of games. Then as you grow up, football usually becomes the big sport and basketball, hockey, and baseball all take a back seat. And while I did increase my fandom of the Eagles, Sixers, and to a much smaller degree the Flyers, the Phillies always remained #1. I missed 1980 by 6 years. 83 by three. 1993 was the best year of my first 10. Not even close. I wish I remembered it better, but all I have is my VHS of Whatever It Takes, Dude, and I still watch during rain delays when it’s aired. I remember sitting in front of the TV endlessly watching the Phils’ games growing up.

Matthew Perry, I liked you. You were at one time, my favorite person on TV. You entertained me as Chandler for 10 years, and through reruns, still do today. Then you made “the whole ten yards.” The first one i liked. This one i did not. But then you came back with Studio 60. And you won me over again. Matt Albie was an awesome character and you played him well. All in all, I think we’ve had a good relationship. Until now. You have chosen to do a retarded movie. “17 Again.” It is basically a male version of 13 going on 30 and Big, but in reverse. And Zac Efron? Dudes a gay. Comeon Matt. Get back on the right track ASAP.

I have waited 15 years for this. The Phillies won a playoff series. And it totally made up for the birds getting embarassed and my fantasy teams playing like shit. All that doesn’t matter, because the Phillies are 4 wins away from the world series. Man, Thursday is going to be fucking sweet. It’s almost too overwhelming, like if the Phils somehow blow this, I don’t know how I’ll handle it, but I’m sure they’ll be a lot of crying. I mean, this is even more exciting than when the Soul won the Arena Bowl!

There are a few sentences I never thought I’d say. Number 1, “Hey guys, this is my black friend.” And i always thought number 2 would be “I was at a playoff game at Citizen’s Bank Park where Shane Victorino hit a grand slam of CC Sabbathia and the Phillies took a 2-0 lead in the NLDS.” But goddamit if I wasn’t in section 134, row 37, seat 16 on Thursday Night when Bret Meyers had the most epic walk by a pitcher ever, and then Shane Victorino hit the most awesome grand slam ever off the hottest pitcher in baseball to give the Phils the best win I’ve ever seen in my life. I may never see a game that awesome again live in my entire life. If only Tom and I had gotten up on fan-a-vision the night would have been complete. 6 People complimented my Ricky Ledee jersey. One douche bag said he sucked. I did the only reasonable thing, and told a security guard who immediately escorted him out to the chant of “ASSHOLE, ASSHOLE”. Damn it was awesome. I still have shivers from it. Fuck Yeah.
